About Sonis™

Sound, music and more than 30 years of experience.

Sonis™ was created by musician, educator and sound practitioner Rikki Jordan, bringing together decades of experience in music, teaching, sound and working with people.

The idea behind Sonis is simple: to create accessible experiences that give people space to slow down, reconnect with their senses and step away from the constant stimulation of everyday life.

I'd use your studio photograph with the guitar here. It is by far the strongest photograph you've shown me for an About page because you look approachable and it immediately establishes the music background.

Where music meets wellbeing.

Music has been a central part of my life for more than 30 years — as a musician, guitarist, songwriter, producer and educator.

Over time, that work developed alongside my exploration of sound, mindfulness and sensory wellbeing. I became increasingly interested not simply in music as something we perform or listen to, but in how we experience sound and what happens when we deliberately give it our attention.

Sonis™ grew from bringing those different areas together.

Rather than expecting people to engage with a particular style of meditation or wellbeing practice, Sonis uses something universally familiar; sound, as the starting point.

Designed to be accessible.

Sonis™ wasn't created for people who already practise meditation or attend wellbeing sessions.

The programmes are designed to meet people where they are, whether that's a nursery classroom, university, community group or supported setting.

There is nothing to perform, achieve or get right. Sound, music, imagination, listening and simple guided experiences provide an accessible route into slowing down and becoming more present.
